Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most well-known Indian celebrity in Bollywood. Last year, he was stopped at an American airport and interrogated for two hours because of his surname, Khan. The film, My Name Is Khan, which releases in theatres February 11th in India and February 12th here has Shah Rukh playing a Muslim who also deals with Asberger’s Syndrome who marries an Indian widow.
There must be something more to this film because Hindu Indians have begun rioting and defacing posters for the film. The aspect in which the film has chosen to portray Muslims seems to be the cause of the riots. However, among those opposed to the film, are those who say they didn’t mind the portrayal of Muslims.
The film attempts to change how Muslims are perceived. Yet, is it worth it to continue showing the film with enraged rioters and police being obliged to protect the theatres?

January 2010 Issue of Vogue India with Sonam Kapoor who reportedly once weighed 198 pounds (90kg). She is now about 136 pounds (60kg). Something important to note about weight is that it isn’t the weight you should be concentrating on but rather what is healthy for your height and the less than 80cm around the waist rule. Sonam Kapoor, a Bollywood actress, is 5,9. Though the amount of weight she has lost is remarkable, we have to wonder if now she is slightly underweight, due to her height.
Here were some of her words of food wisdom, which we all agree with.
1. Don’t eat that samosa. (you know what she means! Junk food)
2. Eat small meals, every two hours, instead of three big meals.
3. Stay away from refined foods. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables, and lean meats.
5. Cut down on caffeine and drink more water. Green tea has the caffeine you need, so switch from coffee.
6. Accept that there can be no excuse for straying from your regime.
7. Put on music and dance.
8. Recognise that there is no easy way.
9. Don’t be a lazy bum. You only need six hours of sleep. Get up and get moving.
10. Never be unhappy with who you are, but do see where there may be room for improvement.

The Brad Pitt of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, you may remember was detained at the US border a few months ago. A few weeks ago he discussed his distaste at those who miscontrue Islam to the public referring to Islamic clerks saying that the essence of the Quran is lost in the terrorism that these men preach. He says that individuals and groups such as these should be “ignored and isolated”.
He further expands on the issue saying that “Jihad was supposed to be propagated by the Prophet himself, but unfortunately, at present two versions of Islam seemed exist, an Islam from Allah and an Islam from the Mullahs.”
So instead Shah Rukh advises a reeducation for those young and impressionable so that they are provided with the “right reading of the Quran and said political parties should not be allowed to pursue communal agenda and there should be a law which will not allow any party to misread any of the holy books”.
Smart man, that Shah Rukh but as we mentioned previously Tyra as well supports changing ideologies so changing religious mentality especially when both sides feel so strongly will prove to evitably be quite challenging.
Some consolidation concerning beliefs and opinions among Islamic leaders would have to be set as well as the removal of global threats such as, al-Qaeda among other terrorist organizations but really is it logical that we expect these misguided “leaders” to change?

Certain comments about the following photo was ‘Hey, wasn’t this the promo pic for the previous two films’.
It probably was but real Twi-fans won’t care. There are there for the amour. We still don’t understand what the fuss is about. The Twilight franchise is kinda like watching a film from Bollywood with no music!
If you love that Edward won’t touch Bella because he’s afraid he’ll grr at her, we recommend a film of the South Asian persuasion especially if you like extended romance dialogue, songs and ‘danger’. dun dun dunn

The “King of Bollywood”, Shah Rukh “King” Khan was detained and interrogated at Newark Airport in New Jersey on Saturday and the people of India are ‘fuming’!!
The Indian-born Khan believes he was interrogated by immigration in New Jersey after a British Airways flight from India because Khan happens to be a common Muslim surname which appears on national security checklists.
Shah explained the situation to reporters: “I was waiting for my bags. I thought it was nice of them to take me to another room, but that was apparently a second check. I had my papers in order.”
He says he was told by the officials the detainment was due to a “routine” luggage check, but British Airways managed to lose Khan’s luggage!
Khan was interrogated for a number of hours before officials let the actor make a phone call to the folks over at the Indian consulate to call for his release from detainment.
Although the Bollywood king realizes the “unfortunate” procedure is one “that needs to be followed,” many in India are up in arms over the detainment of their national hero!
Saturday, which coincidentally enough was India’s independence day, saw many protests in the northern Indian city Allahabad, including the burning of American flags and an effigy of President Obama!!!
Praful Patel, a civil aviation minister, believes India will “take the issue [up] with the United States government strongly.”
He continued: “Such Incidents involving Indians due to their religion or nationality should not happen. We will not accept it.”
In an attempt to keep the peace, American ambassador to India, Timothy J. Roemer, has released the following statement regarding the interrogation:
“We are trying to ascertain the facts of the case, to understand what took place. Shah Rukh Khan, the actor and global icon, is a very welcome guest in the United States. Many Americans love his films,” says Roemer.
