Documentary of Loca Lohan In India

The documentary from BBC that documented Lindsay Lohan contending with the serious issue of child trafficking in India from a few months back hit the web yesterday. We know it’s a serious issue but given Lohan’s record of mental breakdowns and drunkenness, it’s hard to see if she’s actually serious about it.

Toys That Came To Life On The Big Screen!

Over the years, we have seen some of our favourite childhood toys make it into brights lights, cameras and action in films. Some were good, some were bad and some scared us…a lot.

Here are a few of our favourites!

Optimus Prime, the Autobots and the Decepticons became larger than life in the film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which earned $813 million overall in the box office, more than its predecessor Transformers!

Even the Bratz dolls got their 15 seconds in 2007!

And who could forget He-man, originally an 80s plastic toy from Mattel. Dolph Lundgren reenacted the little plastic man in Masters of the Universe of 1987.

Meanwhile Frank Langella played archnemesis Skeletor opposite to He-man.

Pixar’s Toy Story I and II introduced Mr. Potato Head as the master of disguised and was voiced by comedian Don Rickles! Memorable and classic!

Though the 1985 comedy of the board game Clue was made into a film, it wasn’t so great even if it starred Tim Curry, Christopher Lloyd and Madeline Kahn.

Some toys did not become so cheerful and adorable when they became animate. Take Chucky in Child’s Play from the 80s for example, the scariest bad toy on the block. It is rumoured he was inspired by sweet My Buddy or Cabbage Patch Kids dolls.

Oh Chucky, you homicidal maniac.

It really is amazing to see how toys translate to the silver screen though even if Chucky is nightmare-inducing crazy. We will never be able to look at Cabbage Patch again.

Children 18 And Younger Excluded From Body Scans

The UK group Action on Rights for Children have advocated against the body scanning of children at the airport as it infringes upon Child Pornography laws. Thus, passengers under the age of 18 are now exempt. What we don’t understand is why the UK-based group is under the impression that this is pornography, they look more CSI than naked and sexy to us. Though this is a concern, it seems minuscule when contrasted with the issues of society’s safety. It seems that terrorist attacks increase in number per year, on air planes no less so is it safe for terrorists to know that children will be excluded?

The scanners are being put in place to protect everyone. What is most important is discovering whether someone possesses a gun, knife or explosive device.

Is it right to endanger society because safety in scanners is being interpreted as supposed child porn?

It’s Not Just North America Anymore, Jack Frost Hits Europe Too

North Americans have been suffering from some of the most frigid weather this winter but now they are not alone as it is predicted for weather in Europe to remain below freezing temperature in the weeks to come!

Remember to bundle up. Hypothermia is not fun!

Kate Bush – Wuthering Heights

We remember Kate’s music from such a long time ago. We kinda wish everyone did!

Running Up That Hill

Though you might recognize this song from quite a long time ago, we might also know it has been re-used for the Daybreakers soundtrack. Something you might not know is that this was originally sung by Kate Bush, who has one of the most unique voices we have ever heard.

We like both versions but we adore Kate and think she needs to be recognized!

Gumby Creator Passes On :(

Art Clokey, constantly plagued by bladder infections died in his sleep Friday at home. The animator was the creator of Gumby, the most beloved bendable creation ever, an idea that began just as a school project while he attended the University of Southern California. Later on, Gumby was joined by Pokey the horse finally transferring into action figure form years later. The cow-licked green gingerbread looking Gumby gaining even more popularity when Eddie Murphy included him in a sketch as a cigar-smoking show business primadonna, which Clokey apparently very much liked.

Art Clokey was 88.

Kate Gosselin and Her $7000 Weave

Ms. Katey was given a new makeover from Ted Gibson. The hair affair was filmed by TLC as part of Kate The Clean Slate where Kate takes the first steps in moving on after Jon Douche. Luckily, she didn’t have to pay a cent. Ted Gibson says that usually his haircuts are $950. For Kate “the color would have been about $500, and the extensions, which were great length extensions, would probably cost about $5000”.

7000 dollars for a hair cut and she didn’t seem so happy! Lucky Ingrate! Except it took about 20 hours to do, maybe she was tired?

Personally, we would have recommended that she shouldn’t have had so many layers put in and the dye job should have all been the same colour or highlighted better in that all colours match. There is also too much volume on top to sustain the hairstyle.

The good thing is that if this ever happens to you, it should grow out into a nice cut in a few months depending upon how fast your hair grows.

Hopefully the hair doesn’t deter Kate from having a clean slate but a make-over can sometimes be a great way of seeing the world differently especially if it does make you feel better about yourself!
