Experimental Audiovisual By Student Designer

Looks like fashion photography to us. Student Designer Anna Daubner came up with this for her editorial debut. Amazing! The last outfit looks kind of Gaga-esque, non?

Alice In Wonderland Make-Up

Ahh, make-up is relatively the same after a while but they have a nice box!

If you are excited for Lewis Carroll’s book making its cinematic debut with the likes of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter and pop-up books are super fun for you, you might want this.

Disappointed At Choice For Lafayette’s New BoyToy

Maybe it’s just a bad picture? But why is it that he looks more country hokum than pretty face. In any case, this is Southland’s Kevin Alejandro. He will play a ”good-natured Latino orderly who’s caring for Lafayette’s mother (played by Alfre Woodard)” as Jesus Velasquez.

Latin Jesus eh?

We will see. At least they’ve found the last love for the show.

Reese Witherspoon’s Brilliant Idea

Elle Woods Reese Witherspoon recently discussed clothes swapping soirées she holds with her female friends.

“There are three of us who wear pretty much the same size, so we’ll get together on a Friday night and I’ll bring clothes I want to trade and they’ll bring theirs. We swap shoes and handbags a lot. I wore my girlfriend’s dress to a wedding recently. It’s fun.”

We’ve done this before actually but unfortunately, they were not soirées so this is actually a great idea!

There’s no need to go to the mall and you never have to get bored with your wardrobe because you’ll always have something fun and different to wear and if you don’t, trade with a friend!

Drink Your Path To Beauty

A slew of new drinkable products are popping up everywhere for the sake of beauty. According to Mintel, a market research firm “global food and drink product launches with a ‘beauty enhancing’ claim increased by a staggering 306 percent from 2005 to 2008,” in Europe and the United States while the Kline Group, another firm believe that the industry to grow from the $1.7 billion in 2007 to $2.2 billion by 2013.

The idea is so popular that in the restaurant Imperial Herbal in Singapore, restaurant-goers with dermatology problems speak with an herbalist, who creates ‘treatments’ that are to be added to their meals. In Japan, collagen, a protein found in connective tissues is added to yogurt drinks, dried fruits and other foods with the idea that consuming it will improve one’s skin. Nescafé has followed suit, hopping onto the collagen train while GliSODin Skin Nutrients is one of the new products in the US with cantaloupe extract high in superoxide dismutase (an antioxidant enzyme).

Dermatologist Francesca Fusco seems to agree that edible beauty products are good but added that “you can also get all of the benefits of this through a healthy diet and a good multivitamin.”

Collagen in food though has ‘‘nothing unique […] that makes it specifically useful for connective tissues’’, a cosmetic chemist at Pharmasol Corporation James Hammer said.

Healthy diet and good multivitamin or Beauty product for dinner?

How To Remember Tumours/Cancer Better: Your Cellphone

Fox News. Trashy news. All day. All the time.

A new study has been conducted in favour of cell phones and their effect on individuals’ memory, in specific, Alzheimer’s Disease. It is said that cell phones reverse the effects of the disease.

Great except there was another study conducted some time ago stating that cell phone use without a headset causes tumours and brain cancer.

It becomes irrelevant then that Alzheimer’s is prevented because it is replaced with the risk of something decidedly more dangerous.

Even though this doctor said this in 2008, there have been subsequent studies supporting this evidence.

To prevent this or at least reduce your risk, just wear a headset, or use your cellphone on speakerphone even if there are ‘many other cancer risks’ out there.

For Alzheimer’s prevention or rather improvement of memory, a Mediterranean diet rich in fish, mono-unsaturated fats, fruits, and vegetables has been noted by the ”Current Opinion in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolic Care as being ”associated with slower cognitive decline” as well as a “reduced risk of Alzheimer’s disease” as per a study released this Thursday.

Karl, Coco And Size

How many previews of this issue are there going to be? Come out with it already! The above images are done by Karl Lagerfeld and he decide to take part in the highly-discussed plus-size issue for V. And despite what he has been quoted as saying, he was probably the best to take these. We prefer these in fact to this

Her pasties do remind us of something in a Dita Von Teese show though. We do love the accessories though!

What A Fun Night It Was At The People’s Choice Awards

And Sandra Bullock, well-deserved!

Paris Hilton Spring Shoes 2010

Zebra, Rejected Bridesmaid rouge (we refer to the scrunchie) and Gold Flamé, we are not loving so much but the floral and green/yellow detailed numbers of Paris Hilton’s are really very nice! We wouldn’t mind a pair ourselves!

She is a lot more than her cinematic debut of glow in the dark fun made her out to be.

All the shoes, however have nice lines, we just wish there was more of a selection.

The heels are priced at around $89 US and will be sold at department stores and retail outlets in America.

‘Franco’ The Tortured Kidnapper On General Hospital

If this is all for research, he sures seems to be having a lot of fun as a rejected artist turned kidnapper. James Franco even gets to keep his last name as his name in the show.

Seems convincing in the Soap sense.

Finding A Replacement For Gisele

Creative director of Loewe, Stuart Vevers has chosen someone new to represent the spring/summer 2010 collection. Last year, as you might know, Gisele was his muse.

Seeing that she is not available this year though, Daria Webowy was chosen for his collection that ”has a youthful, almost athletic feel, Daria felt right for this. In the summer, Daria had been on a sailing trip across the Atlantic and looked super healthy and glowing. She perfectly represents the Loewe woman; sexy and strong – we’ve been drawn to strong women like Daria since I started at Loewe. The styling is pulled together and elegant – I wanted to reference the roots of the house – but on a cool, young woman like Daria, I hope feels relevant for today.”

We like her face. It’s kind of Raquel Welch meets Sophia Loren. We have also seen other pictures of her showing a great range of her versatility and poise.

Where The Wild Shoes Are

This is a sneak peek at Louise Goldin‘s first shoe collection for Topshop available in….February. Triste, we know. The to-die-for stiletto-esque shoes designed with spikes in mini and crystals come in cream, noir and rose. As replicas from her spring/summer 2010 collection, it’s not a wonder that they are a little chèr at £150 ($250 $300 $275?)

But they’re soo pretty!
